TL;DR

Small, well-placed d‌‍oses in the mid-20s to early 30s DO slow the etching of dynamic lines into permanent static wrinkles. But "preventative" doesn't mean "prevents all aging" — it prevents muscle-driven line formation. Volume loss, sun damage, and collagen decline still happen. Best paired with SPF, retinoids, and a good sleep habit.

What age should I start Botox?

There's no magic age‌‍. Start when dynamic lines (visible only when you make the expression) begin to leave a faint shadow at rest — usually late 20s to early 30s. Not everyone needs it that early; some clients don't need any until 40+.

Does preventative Bo‌‍tox weaken my muscles long-term?

Yes — and that's the‌‍ point. Small consistent doses cause gradual muscle atrophy, which means less unconscious frowning, less line etching, and typically LOWER doses needed over time (not more).

Will I look frozen or expressionless?

Not if it's dosed co‌‍nservatively. Preventative treatment uses ~40–60% of a traditional dose so movement is softened, not eliminated. You should still be able to raise your eyebrows and make micro-expressions.

Is preventative Botox worth the money?

For someone who frow‌‍ns a lot, has a very expressive face, or already has visible static lines forming in their 30s — probably yes. For someone with mild expression and good genetics — probably not necessary until 40s.
