Rosacea and Laser Genesis — What the Redness Actually Needs
Laser Genesis (1064nm) is the workhorse for diffuse rosacea redness because it targets superficial capillaries without breaking the skin. Best in a series of 4–6, monthly, paired with SPF and gentle skincare. Not a cure — rosacea is a chronic condition — but a very effective calmer.
Can Laser Genesis cure my rosacea?
No. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition. But Laser Genesis dramatically reduces the visible redness, calms flushing episodes, and clients often go months between flare-ups with a maintenance schedule.
How many sessions do I need for rosacea?
Typically 4–6 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart to knock the redness down, then 1–2 maintenance sessions per year to hold it. Some clients need more if the rosacea is severe or their triggers are hard to avoid.
What skincare should I be using with rosacea?
Gentle, non-foaming cleanser (Cetaphil, La Roche-Posay Toleriane); a fragrance-free moisturiser with ceramides or niacinamide; and mineral SPF 50 EVERY morning. Avoid alcohol-based toners, harsh actives (glycolic, retinol at first), and anything that stings.
Should I see a dermatologist first?
Yes — if you haven't been formally diagnosed. Some conditions that look like rosacea (lupus, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis) need very different treatment.
